Video game sales......up?

You bet.

Despite the current economical climate in the U.S., this Reuters Article shows a 10% increase in video game hardware and software sales over last year.  Seems like Nintendo contributed a large amount to this jump in sales.  In November, Nintendo sold over a whopping 1.5 million DS's and over 2 million Wii's!  Even the X360 and PS3 are doing pretty well shifting 836,000 and 378,000 units respectively.

NPD said the U.S. video game industry is set to top $22 billion in 2008, and Nintendo, Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) and Sony Corp (6758.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said their strong sales in November showed that consumers are still spending despite the global economic crisis.
Unfortunetly, the article doesn't mention where PC gaming stands, but it's certainly a good indication for the gaming industry.
