Despite the current economical climate in the U.S., this Reuters Article shows a 10% increase in video game hardware and software sales over last year. Seems like Nintendo contributed a large amount to this jump in sales. In November, Nintendo sold over a whopping 1.5 million DS's and over 2 million Wii's! Even the X360 and PS3 are doing pretty well shifting 836,000 and 378,000 units respectively.
NPD said the U.S. video game industry is set to top $22 billion in 2008, and Nintendo, Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) and Sony Corp (6758.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said their strong sales in November showed that consumers are still spending despite the global economic crisis.Unfortunetly, the article doesn't mention where PC gaming stands, but it's certainly a good indication for the gaming industry.
